It's the season to fall in love

Thoughts on autumn weddings

Cooler temperatures, warm cozy scarves, and pumpkin spice on everything! I'm definitely a fan of autumn, specially the change of colors. Recently, I was asked to draw up some illustrations for a wedding, and what makes it so exciting is that it's scheduled on the first day of autumn this year. I also get to create character drawings which I don't get to do as much as I would prefer.

I love that I get free rein over the style and even the colors. It's so amazing when a client goes "surprise us!"

Personalizing is something that's near and dear to my heart. I love making illustrations that reflect the personality of the couple. I only get to do this  when they open up more about their backgrounds, how they met and what nots, I'll even sometimes find similarities to my personal experiences. Sooner or later, I even end up being good friends with my clients after finding out so much about them.

Autumn Colors

Usher in the chilly weather in the most glamorous of ways with an iridescent color scheme of soft gray and silver.

If your venue has a lot of natural wood showing, like a renovated barn, ranch or country vineyard, don't fight it. Welcome it into your color scheme and pair it with just one other strong color like purple. Choose a shade to match the formality of your theme since different hues can lean more toward formal than casual and vice versa
